The
Fish Farm
Stringency & innovation
Domaine Huso spreads out over 19 hectares at the confluence of the Isle and Vern rivers, in the town of Neuvic. It is situated on the land of a farm dating back to before the French revolution, which left traces and memories that can still be seen and felt on the stone walls.
The Isle River is omnipresent, whether crossing the property or bordering its contours with its meanders flanked by imposing chalky cliffs. At this place, the water runs rapidly at a depth of 1.20 m and ridges of rocks break the surface, giving the Isle its allure and verve.
It is on this estate in 2011 that Laurent Deverlanges chose to set up a fish farm dedicated to breeding of sturgeons in order to produce caviar, at the very same place where the first local caviar production took place in the 1980's. The company's regional roots are combined with an innovative and ambitious research and development policy.
Our farm is based in Neuvic in Dordogne. We fully control the fish farming and caviar production including: the hatchery for the birth of our sturgeons’ fry, a pool for both males and females sturgeons under 3kg, a pool exclusively dedicated to females sturgeons, where they will spend most of their lives until they reach their sexual maturity ; and a maturing pool for the females whom eggs have reached the harvest period for the caviar production.
Our laboratory is also located in Neuvic 's farm.
Domaine Huso produces and markets the Caviar de Neuvic brand. It also produces caviar for other brands in accordance with precise specifications. Domaine Huso is first and foremost synonymous with an innovative and stringent quality approach.
In 2013, Domaine Huso received the acclaim of the association France Initiative, chaired by Mr Schweitzer, as one of ten "remarkable companies" in France. This title rewards its innovative approach, promotion of its region and recognition of human capital as a criterion for the overall success of the company.
